If you're currently in year 11 or 12, or recently finished school, our School Leaver Expo can help you find your path to uni. Join friendly staff and students who are happy to answer all your questions about courses, scholarships, accommodation and applying.

And even if you’re not sure what you want to study, you just might discover your passion on the day.

How do I register for the University of Tasmania School Leavers Expo?

You can register for the event online through our official University of Tasmania website. The registration page will guide you through the process step by step.

Is there a registration fee for the Expo?

No, the registration for the School Leavers Expo is completely free of charge.

Can I register on the day of the event?

While we recommend registering online beforehand, we do provide on-the-day registration at the entrance.

I am in year 11 or 12, is this event suitable for me?

Yes, this event is 100% for you to help you make decisions on your further education options after college.

Can I bring my family & friends?

Yes you can, everyone is welcome to come along, but only the people interested in further study need to register.

Can I drive to the expo?

Yes you can and there is plenty of free parking on each campus, you can also catch a bus as there are stops close to all our venues.

How much is parking?

Parking is FREE at all the Expo events.

What activities will be at the event?

This Expo is primarily about talking with Academic Staff and student ambassadors about your future study options. This is a chance to bring all your questions along and seek information on things such as enrolment, UniLife, Study requirements and more.

Will there be food and drink at the event?

Yes, there will be hot and cold drinks and light food options.

Will there be campus tours?

No, but if you come back for Open Day later in there will be a lot more interactive activities, talks and tours on offer.

What resources will be available for new students at the Expo?

New students will have access to a wide range of resources including:

  • One on one conversations with Academic staff
  • Information on scholarships and financial aid
  • Details about accommodation options
  • Guidance on student support services such as mental health and wellness
  • Opportunities to join student organizations and clubs
  • Riawunna

How can I prepare for the Expo?

To make the most of the Expo, we recommend:

  • Bringing a notepad and pen for taking notes during sessions
  • Preparing a list of questions you might have about courses, resources, and university life

Will I receive physical flyers/course guides?

No, there will be business card hand outs with a QR code on them, as we strongly encourage you to utilise our comprehensive digital resources. This supports the university’s commitment to sustainability and reducing printed collateral.

Schools Recommendation Program

Our early entry program allows year 12 students to apply for a diverse range of exciting courses and receive an offer earlier in the year, helping you to focus on finishing year 12.

Open to all Australian year 12 students starting uni in 2026, you can apply through the Schools Recommendation Program from 26 June 2025.
