Alumni are encouraged to become active participants within their local networks. They provide opportunities for alumni with a common link to connect and to keep in touch with the University and each other.

Sarah Geard, BA 2015
Alumni & Business Relationships Manager at Kingston University
Sarah is a Bachelor of Arts graduate. She majored in English, Journalism, Media and Communications and a highlight of her studies at the University of Tasmania was an amazing fieldwork trip to Tokyo. After graduating, Sarah undertook a 3-month internship in London with a company called BritBound, helping people move from Australia, New Zealand and Canada to the UK. These days, Sarah lives and works in London; she has also lived in the United States and in Queensland, but says she will always call Tasmania home.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Martingale Foundation
Cassandra Hugill is the founding CEO of the Martingale Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting talented people from low socioeconomic backgrounds to access Masters and PhD in top UK universities. She is dedicated to advancing innovation in research by fostering opportunities for the next generation, with over 50 Scholars currently supported on the flagship Scholarship programme. With over a decade of experience in inclusion, engagement, and strategic leadership, Cassandra focuses on driving impactful collaborations between academia, industry, and non-profit organisations.

Grant is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate and Chartered Accountant. He is passionate about connecting alumni, wherever they are in the world. Grant is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Richard Ngo, BE 1996
Principal Engineer for SP Group
Richard is a Bachelor of Engineering graduate. He has been the University’s Singapore Network Leader since 2010 and enjoys connecting alumni and sharing his love of Tasmania. Richard was appointed as a Fellow of the University in 2022 for his service to the University of Tasmania and is the former Chair of Events for Australian Alumni Singapore group (2001-2003).

Noel Ng, LLB 2019
Chief Operating Officer at Goodwins Law Corporation
Noel is a proud UTAS law graduate. Born in America, Noel has lived in Singapore for most of his life and was a decorated police officer before heading to Tasmania for further studies. At present, he is a practicing lawyer and is actively involved with various chambers of commerce, alumni and mentorship networks as well as give counsel to start-ups, SMEs and student-led organizations on legal and non-legal matters. Noel sits on the Management Board of the Australian Alumni Singapore (AAS) and is also involved with the New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mentorship Network, an initiative by the Australian Government.

Masrina Md Saad, BCom 1999
PHD candidate, Universiti Teknologi MARA
Masrina is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate. She has over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, procurement and human resources, locally and abroad. She has exposures in management/leadership and daily operations with various industries such as energy, insurance/takaful, ICT, education and automotive.
Masrina has completed her Masters in Forensic Accounting and Financial Criminology in 2023 and now pursuing PHD on a part time basis.
Currently Masrina holds a position as a Senior Manager (Finance) in MW Advantech Sdn Bhd. She is also an associate member of CPA, Australia.

Clarice Chan, LLB 2011
Advocate and Solicitor at Baru Bian Advocates and Senior Associate at Jeffrey Tan & Chng
Clarice is a Bachelor of Laws graduate from the University of Tasmania’s School of Law. She came to study in Tasmania after joining a twinning program at a Malaysian college (KDU-UTAS). Clarice has fond memories of Hobart and final-year moot court. After her studies, she was a journalist briefly before kick-starting her legal career in Australia. After returning to Malaysia, she was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2016 and the Sarawak Bar in 2017.
Clarice’s current areas of practice include land disputes, administrative law, constitutional law, commercial and family disputes. In 2023, she authored a textbook relating to the administration of estates in Malaysia.
She also does counsel work in all levels of the civil courts in Malaysia, and sometimes in the native court of Sarawak.

Sang Sing Wong, BE 2004
Project Manager, Large Scale Solar (LSS), EPCC Solar Company
After graduating with a Bachelor's degree specialising in Mechanical Engineering, Sang Sing has become an experienced project manager and engineer with expertise roles in solar energy, light rail transit, high-rise / commercial /industrial / mixed development.
He is skilled in project planning, execution, and team leadership.

Hirman is a Bachelor of Arts graduate with majors in International Relations and Behavioural Science; he also has an MBA from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Hirman has over 15 years of experience as a researcher, analyst, and in senior management, with exposure to various fields of business and industries relating to consumer products and services, socioeconomic affairs, government and politics, agriculture, oil and gas, and information technology.

Mark is the University of Tasmania Foundation USA Chair, a member of the University of Tasmania Foundation Committee and member of the Friends of the University.
He has over 30 years' experience in both the private equity and operations consulting sector in the USA, Australia and Europe.
Mark’s business provides experienced talent, search and performance improvement services to the private equity sector.
Previously Mark was a Senior Managing Director with SSA & Company where he led the firm's Capabilities Practices.
Mark is a member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization).
