The Tech Solutions Hub is located in The Makers building in Burnie, which features state-of-the-art laboratories supporting TIA’s globally-relevant research, collaborative areas for business and industry activities, specialised spaces hosting the Tech Solutions Hub’s manufacturing technology and equipment, and also staff working environments.
Recent collaborations have included:
- Tasmania Police on 3D printed drone guards.
- Grange resources on building remote weather stations.
- Hydro Tasmania on hydro power educational kits.
- Taz Drones Solutions on Drone components.
The Tech Solutions Hub has been successful in completing projects specific to industry requirements and have engaged our students throughout the process to enhance their skill set and capabilities. This is an area we can further expand and provide solutions for our industry partners. Not only does industry gain innovative solutions, but our students also gain exposure to project capabilities they may not experience in other learning environments.
