About the research project

Several global issues including climate change (and the associated biophysical changes), resource scarcity and international conflicts are relevant for the ATCP to consider as they manage the Antarctic Treaty System. Additionally, the continent and southern ocean is under pressure from marine resource harvesting and rising tourism numbers. A project may examine one of the challenges for Antarctic governance with a view to contributing to scholarship and recommendations for the continued robustness of governance of Antarctic under the ATS.
