About the research project
This research project will suit an industry applicant who has strong experience in preparing sustainability reports within Australia and seeks to engage in further research to examine the application of the new Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards - Disclosure of Climate-related Financial Information(ASSB S2) in practice along with the non mandatory AASB S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information. How industry manages the inclusion of other sustainability related information beyond climate related matters will be of relevance to this project in identifying challenges and opportunities in this unprecedented period of corporate adjustment. The applicant may be a non law graduate but will require evidence of work experience in corporate Australia to be able engage in the research, strongly aligned undergraduate qualifications and research publications.

Funding
Applicants will be considered for a Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship or Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarship (TGRS) which, if successful, provides:
- a living allowance stipend of $33,511 per annum (2025 rate, indexed annually) for 2 years
- a relocation allowance of up to $2,000
- a tuition fees offset covering the cost of tuition fees for up to two years (domestic applicants only)
If successful, international applicants will receive a University of Tasmania Fees Offset for up to two years.

Additional eligibility criteria specific to this project/scholarship:
- Undergraduate degree in law or a related discipline with demonstrated application to this project. The applicant may be a non law graduate but will require evidence of work experience in corporate Australia to be able engage in the research, strongly aligned undergraduate qualifications and research publications.
Selection Criteria
The project is competitively assessed and awarded. Selection is based on academic merit and suitability to the project as determined by the College.
Additional essential selection criteria specific to this project:
- Undergraduate degree in law or a related discipline which demonstrates ability to engage in this project
- Evidence of research publications from prior study
- Industry experience in sustainability reporting in Australia
