Springboard to Higher Education Program

The University is committed to nurturing the potential of young Tasmanians by providing financial and educational support to help students transition from secondary school to university through this program.

Springboard to Higher Education

The Springboard to Higher Education program is an initiative of the University of Tasmania, aiming to encourage and support young Tasmanians to consider and pursue a university education. This includes providing financial support to students during Years 11 and 12, as well as upon their enrolment at the University of Tasmania.

During Years 11 and 12, students receive financial assistance to support their schooling, and are supported within their school or college by dedicated University staff who offer personalised guidance and information. This support may involve explaining the bursary, exploring pathways to university, facilitating university campus visits, as well as guidance with accessing additional financial support and scholarships.
These efforts ensure that our Springboard recipients receive comprehensive early support, empowering them to confidently consider and transition to university.

The program currently benefits students from 52 public schools across Tasmania, and is made possible through generous funding from trusts, foundations, individual donors, State, and local government, as well as the University of Tasmania.

Schools nominate students whom they believe will benefit most from the support, across a range of criteria.
