Medicine Aboriginal entry pathway

Our Aboriginal lecturer Dr Angela Forrest will be happy to assist you in your application. Angela provides personalised and group support to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students throughout the course.

Do you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander?

The University celebrates Aboriginal Tasmania’s deep history, its diversity of cultures and values, and continually builds its Aboriginal connection.

We are firmly committed to supporting the educational success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, offering a culturally safe and supportive environment and personalised support at the course level.

In addition, students are also supported via the Riawunna Centre for Education– with access to Aboriginal Student Advisors, community rooms, community and cultural experiences.

If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, you may be eligible to apply for admission into the Medicine (BMedScMD) program through our Aboriginal Entry Pathway (AEP).

AEP provides more flexible options to meet entry criteria for admission into Medicine, and a clinical aptitude test score is not required.

Aboriginal applicants are encouraged to apply through AEP, in addition to completing the standard University of Tasmania application.
