Accounting is changing, and accountants no longer simply complete mathematical equations. With companies rapidly required to report on environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, peak bodies now call for accounting professionals with prowess beyond financial metrics.
Graduating from our Sustainable Business specialisation, you’ll be positioned with a competitive advantage over traditional accounting graduates. Learn from the world leaders responsible for the University of Tasmania’s top global climate action rating and gain a unique perspective of the models behind our net-zero emissions state.
Your sustainability focus embedded within core accounting skills will support your future career to assess, report, and advise on contemporary business, or carve out your own socially minded niche. Sustainable accountants work at the cutting-edge of wellbeing, compliance, and innovation, ensuring metrics stand up to appropriate rigor.
The Global People Management specialisation equips you with the skills to manage diverse teams in global organisations. Across four units, you'll tackle key topics ike global inclusion, the changing nature of work, hybrid teams, and AI's impact on HR practices. You'll also explore new approaches, including non-Western perspectives, through practical case studies and master classes.
Ideal for those aiming to specialise in people and culture roles, this specialisation also strengthens your leadership and management abilities for success in a globalised workplace.
This specialisation equips you to navigate the complexities of modern finance by exploring global markets, technological shifts, and sustainable practices. You'll learn about core financial concepts, evaluate complex scenarios using insights from sustainable finance and fintech, and develop strategies that balance financial goals with ethics and regulations.
Additionally, you'll hone your ability to communicate financial insights to various audiences. By the end, you'll be prepared to tackle real-world financial challenges and contribute to a more sustainable financial system.
