Our Support to Study Scholarship Package is designed to help students prepare and succeed in their studies. You don’t need to have a high ATAR or have studied at university before to be eligible.

We can help make your university experience less stressful with up to $3,000 of financial support a year to go towards living, travel, and study costs. You can even hold this scholarship alongside one of our other merit, diversity, or study area scholarships!
Jump into uni life
Are you from a regional or remote part of Tasmania?
If you are planning to relocate or travel to commence your studies with us, you are invited to apply for relocation and travel scholarship support. Eligible students can access up to $2000 in support.
Eligible interstate and New Zealand students who are planning to relocate to Tasmania may also be considered.
Find your place
Accommodation can be expensive, but we're here to make it easier and more affordable.
Our accommodation component can support eligible Tasmanian students who choose to stay in our University accommodation to access up to $3000 credit towards their rent.
If you are moving from interstate or New Zealand, eligible applications may also be considered.
Get the support you need
Whether you need academic help, career guidance, health and wellbeing support or just someone to talk to. Every student gets no-cost access to a range of services and support to help them achieve at uni including:
- 10 x 24-hour online study help sessions each semester with unlimited access to learning resources
- Up to 6 x health and wellbeing counselling sessions
- Employment support to help you find a job while you study

Frequently Asked Questions
Support to Study Scholarship Packages are available to commencing and continuing domestic students and onshore international year 12 school leavers who are studying non-fee-waived courses.
The support given is determined by need and includes one or more of the following: financial support, relocation/travel support, accommodation support and support to succeed. Each of these components has its own eligibility.
- Financial Support is provided to both commencing and continuing students who are experiencing financial hardship.
- Relocation Support is available to commencing students from regional or remote Tasmania whose home address is more than 50km from their enrolled campus; it may also be available to eligible interstate and New Zealand students who are planning to relocate to Tasmania.
- Accommodation support is available to commencing students from regional or remote Tasmania whose home address is more than 50km from their enrolled campus; it may also be available to eligible interstate and New Zealand students who are planning to relocate to Tasmania. Only available for University of Tasmania Accommodation (Excluding the Sydney Rozelle Campus).
- Support to Succeed support is available to all applicants who are domestic students and onshore international year 12 school leavers.

Yes, you may be able to receive multiple scholarships up to $20,000 per year. Some exceptions apply to a small number of scholarships, refer to the terms of the scholarship(s) you're applying for. You will need to apply for merit or diversity scholarships separately, You can also apply for multiple scholarships in one simple application to increase your chances of success.
Yes, we encourage everyone who wants to live in uni accommodation to apply as early as they can. If you are eligible for accommodation support, we will let you know and add it to your accommodation account.

- Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN) in your name
- Or a copy of a Centrelink income statement issued to your parent/s or guardian/s
Your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN) is a number Centrelink uses to identify you. They include your number on letters they have sent you or on your concession card, if you have one.
