OxyGenie

OxyGenie’s patented algorithm technology was developed by a team led by UTAS researchers, Professor Peter Dargaville and Dr Tim Gale. A commercial licence was granted to UK-based medical equipment manufacturer, SLE Ltd in 2018. SLE Ltd now uses the technology in 43 countries in its neonatal ventilator to control the amount of oxygen in a baby’s blood.


GreyScan

GreyScan’s patented trace explosives detection technology was developed by a team led by UTAS researcher, Professor Michael Breadmore, in collaboration with Australian technology company Grey Innovation. A commercial licence was granted to Grey Innovation in 2014, which in turn led to the creation of GreyScan Pty Ltd.


Eco Detection

Eco Detection’s patented real-time environmental monitoring technology was developed by a team led by UTAS researcher, Professor Michael Breadmore, in collaboration with Australian technology company Grey Innovation. A commercial licence was granted to Grey Innovation offshoot, Eco Detection Pty Ltd in 2018.


Many more inventions created by University of Tasmania researchers are available to license to commercial partners.
