SW-CARES
Social Work Clinic and Research Service

Our mission is to bring students, social work professionals, researchers, policymakers and partner organisations together to collaboratively address individual and community needs in Tasmania and beyond.

Welcome from Professor Milena Heinsch, Head of Social Work

Welcome to SW-CARES. This service represents a new initiative in social work education, research, professional development and support services. We bring together the needs of our students and partner organisations to enhance service outcomes that positively impact individuals, their families and the community more broadly. We value our partnerships with employers and seek to have an authentic long-term relationship.

SW-CARES integrates evidence-based practice learning for our students and supports capacity building and workforce development and support for our partner organisations. Our research and evaluation services provide valuable insights, knowledge and data to improve practice, change, modify and enhance service delivery.
