Learn to design complex marine machinery alongside leading engineers in the southern hemisphere's most advanced facilities. The Australian Maritime College (AMC) delivers an engineering course that will put you on the path to a thriving career in the maritime industry.
You can focus on one of two specialisations: Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering.

Naval Architecture focuses on the design and construction of everything from submarines and naval ships to luxury yachts, ferries, and cargo vessels. Across multiple branches of engineering, you can gain expertise in the shipping, high-speed, offshore, defence, underwater and recreational industries.
Dive into advanced studies of the ocean environment and the conditions that impact the life cycle of marine structures. Ocean Engineering focuses on the design, construction and operation of offshore, subsea and coastal structures.
You will also learn about applied wave mechanics, underwater technology, and offshore renewable energy concepts, including offshore wind energy.
Our 2+2 Programs provide the opportunity to complete the first two years of your degree at any of our partnering institutions in Australia and New Zealand, with the final two years of your degree to be completed on campus at AMC in Launceston, Tasmania.

Integrated Maritime Engineering Experience
The Bachelor of Maritime Engineering (Specialisation) (Honours) (Cooperative) is a 5-year program for high achieving students to combine a Bachelor of Maritime Engineering with 15-18 months of practical experience in your chosen specialisation.
Working under the supervision of professional engineers gives you experience in your chosen career and valuable industry experience. You will alternate between full-time study and periods of full-time paid work experience.

This 5-year cooperative program allows high achieving students to combine a Bachelor of Maritime Engineering with between 15 and 18 months of practical experience in your chosen specialisation.
