As a nursing student, you will benefit from flexible study options, allowing you to choose between intensive or regular full-time study, and even accelerate your degree after the first year.

Our commitment to your success is evident through excellent practical training and strong connections to the industry. Through learning in our state of the art simulation labs and undertaking 800+ hours of  Professional Experience Placements (PEP), you will develop the skills required to confidently step into the workforce. Plus, the Commonwealth Prac Payment offers nursing students support while they’re undertaking mandatory placements. From July 2025, eligible students will be able to access $319.50 per week (benchmarked to the single Austudy rate) while they’re undertaking a placement.

If you need to study away from home, our Relocation and Travel Support Allowance helps cover accommodation and associated costs within Tasmania.

After your first year of study, you have the option based on your GPA, and placement availability, to undertake an accelerated plan to complete the entire degree in just two years. By utilising spring, summer, and winter study periods in year 2, you complete the same number of units in a shorter time, graduating sooner and allowing you to start your career faster.

We understand that every student is unique. If you want to become a nurse, we'll help you get there. Our nursing program has multiple pathway options to get you there, including the Diploma of University Studies (Nursing Foundation Studies), which is specifically designed to help you meet the entry requirements.
