Fast track your studies and become a fully qualified teacher while studying for a Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education
The University of Tasmania is one of the few universities in Australia offering a Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education with a Master of Teaching double degree. This course will accelerate your career, allowing you to graduate with two professional qualifications in just 4 years.
The Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education focuses on hands-on skills and a deep understanding of natural environments through experiential learning and outdoor excursions. Combined with the Master of Teaching, it fast-tracks your journey to becoming a fully qualified teacher committed to environmental stewardship.
The Master's degree enhances your educational knowledge, preparing you to teach at primary or secondary level. Accredited through the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board and recognised across all Australian states and territories, this course offers flexibility in pursuing a teaching career anywhere in the country.
How do I apply for this course?
In this double degree you’ll complete an undergraduate bachelor’s degree and postgraduate master’s degree in a streamlined course of study, in a shorter time than studying the courses individually, and graduate with both qualifications.
The reduced timeframe is made possible because elective space in the bachelor's degree is used to study units from the master's degree. These units count towards both degrees, reducing the total number of units you need to complete, while still providing all the knowledge, skills, and experience required to graduate with two qualifications.
Your studies commence with the undergraduate component to give you all the knowledge and confidence you need to progress, with the postgraduate component generally commencing in the third year and building on that foundation.
If you wish to undertake this double degree, you need to apply for A3F Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education, and select the Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education and Master of Teaching option.
