The College of Arts, Law and Education is located across the university’s campuses in lutruwita/Tasmania, on the lands of the traditional owners. It also services a national and global community of on-line learners.
The college brings together the teaching and research expertise of five Schools: Creative Arts and Media, Education, Humanities, Law and Social Sciences.
It offers 50 distinctive courses to help you explore your interests and develop the skills employers need for the future: creativity, critical and analytical thinking, problem-solving and communication. We lead the Indigenising of curricula at the University of Tasmania, with offerings in Indigenous lifeworlds and knowledge systems.
Our research is globally significant, tackling the big problems of our times and place and providing new ideas and insights into our understanding of people, societies and environments.
Graduates of our courses are among the country’s most employable. Bachelor of Arts students find full-time jobs within months of graduating. Social Work graduates are among the most highly paid in the country. The College trains Tasmania’s police force, teachers and lawyers, and fosters artists and media professionals in the nation’s most original creative scene. Students nationally in the disciplines offered by our Schools are consistently among the most satisfied with their course.
