Architecture and Design research

We research architecture, design, and urban environments from an ecologically, socially and culturally informed regional perspective.

Our researchers aim to advance socio-cultural sustainability by focusing on indigeneity, inclusivity, and regenerative thinking in architectural and design practices.

Our work includes investigating construction technologies and assessing building performance, particularly in the context of climate change, circular economies, and human well-being. This research supports climate resilience, whole-society enablement, and cultural and creative industries in Tasmania and beyond. Our approach is holistic, critical, and creative, integrating lessons from the past, present, and projected futures.
