Our research foregrounds diversity and inclusion in imagining, creating, and evaluating designed objects, buildings and environments.
We target transformative and translational research projects underpinned by collaborative, participatory and interdisciplinary practices in three key areas.
(Dis)ability and Health
Advancing social inclusion and wellbeing through the design of enabling environments, particularly in relation to neurodiversity and trauma.
Culture and Migration
Developing ways of thinking about architecture and built environments that enable a fuller understanding of their cultural and social connections, particularly in relation to urban renewal, migration, multiculturalism and demographic change.
Australian Indigenous Knowledges and Engagement
Emphasising Australian Indigenous knowledges and engagement in design research, education, and practice, and exploring Australian Indigenous buildings and environments.
