Regional Urban Studies Lab

We examine historic and current conditions to pose questions and present speculative scenarios for urban futures of regional towns and cities.

The Regional Urban Studies Laboratory (RUSL), is a collaborative practice-led design research project that engages directly with local communities and government authorities to explore urban issues in small towns and cities.

Through our work, we present possible future scenarios for these locations.

Using diverse processes of design research, we investigate ideas that are at the periphery of day-to-day practice. By doing this we can find ways to reinterpret local issues that are essentially spatial, but are also related to their broader physical, social, cultural and/or temporal contexts.
