The Tyntyndyer Homestead Inc Board of Management located in Victoria, have had an ongoing long-term partnership with the University of Tasmania School of Architecture and Design, formalised in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding. This collaboration has recently resulted in a grant to the value of $410,306 from the Aboriginal Community Infrastructure Program (Program). The project networks across academia, practice and private enterprise with team members: SBLA Studio, e+ Architecture and First Peoples Training Institute.
The project titled Watti Watti Tungie: Healing Country Capital Works Project, will involve remediation and upgrade to critical building and site infrastructure at the Tyntyndyer Homestead site. It will also support the safe keeping of significant cultural artefacts, upgrading of Cultural Rooms and developing Cultural Landscape infrastructure through rehabilitation of Country.
This project continues the important work in supporting a long-term strategic partnership between UTAS Architecture & Design and Traditional Owners.
