Congratulations to our most recent Westpac scholarship recipients who have received grants.
Scholarship benefits
The Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship includes:
- Up to $120,000 in scholarship funding over 2-3 years to cover the cost of study (e.g. course fees, living expenses, learning experiences and travel expenses).
- A bespoke Leadership Development Program designed to foster potential of emerging leaders by building on your unique strengths and developing capabilities for success. It includes two residentials during the nine-month program.
- Opportunity to add a global context to your education, with tailored international experiences of up to six months.
- Lifelong membership to the W100 – a diverse and growing network of inspiring Aussies ready to collaborate, challenge and offer support. Plus hard-to-access networking and professional development opportunities.
- Attendance at the Westpac Scholars Summit in Sydney.
Eligibility and selection criteria
Available to an Australian citizen, or permanent resident, who has completed their undergraduate degree after 1 September 2019, or will have completed by 31 December 2024, who has demonstrated academic excellence. This Scholarship is for those who can demonstrate leadership potential and will provide you with additional support while you undertake a PhD or a full-time master’s degree (coursework or research).
To be eligible, you must apply for admission to a higher degree by research or a postgraduate coursework degree.

How to apply
All applicants must
- Apply to the University of Tasmania for admission to a postgraduate degree, and
- Apply to Westpac for the Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship.
Applicants applying for Higher Degree by Research must also apply for a University of Tasmania base living allowance scholarship.
Higher Degree by Research applicants (Master's of Research and PhD)
- Apply for admission to a research degree.
- As part of your application for admission apply for a base living allowance: Research Training Program (RTP) or Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarship (TGRS).
- Refer to Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship to submit your scholarship application.
Postgraduate coursework applicants
- Apply for admission to a postgraduate coursework degree.
- Refer to Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship to submit your scholarship application.

- Refer to Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship to submit your scholarship application.
Postgraduate coursework applicants
- Apply through an agent to a postgraduate coursework degree.
