Overview

The Tasmanian Institute of Sport HECS Scholarship is available to High Performance Athletes and employees of the Tasmanian Institute of Sport.

This scholarship covers study of up to 25% of a full-time study load in a single academic year. This may be made up of two 12.5 credit point units, one 25 credit point unit, or half of a 50 credit point unit each year, for either full-time or part-time study.

Eligibility

Available to High Performance Athletes and employees of the Tasmanian Institute of Sport who:

  • Meet the course entry requirements for any Commonwealth Supported Program; and
  • Are training with or employed by the Tasmanian Institute of Sport on a continuing basis (full-time and part-time) or on a fixed-term contract of 12 months or more; and
  • Will continue to be training with or employed by the Tasmanian Institute of Sport while undertaking their study; and
  • Are not currently receiving any other University of Tasmania HECS scholarship.

Ongoing eligibility

To retain eligibility for this scholarship, recipients will be expected to:

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of two units per year (where the course structure permits) and must remain enrolled until after the University Census Date relevant to the semester of study. Students on an approved Leave of Absence are exempt from this requirement for the duration of their approved LOA; and
  • Engage in their units. Students who have not engaged and receive a result of Absent Deemed Failed (AN) for all enrolled units in a given study period, will not retain the scholarship from the following study period onward and cannot have the scholarship reinstated.

Amount

Full HECS scholarship for up to 25% of full-time study annually.
