Eligibility

The Tax Clinic may be able to assist if:

  • The client is experiencing financial hardship
  • The client has a dispute with ATO and/or is unsure how to respond to the ATO
  • The client has a tax debt to the ATO and negotiation is necessary

Please contact us if you are unsure of your eligibility to see if we can assist you.

Application process

Application

To apply for assistance, please complete the online application form below. Alternatively, please contact us via phone (+61 3 6226 6118) or email (tax.clinic@utas.edu.au) to discuss your matter with one of our student volunteers.

Review

You will be notified of our outcome once we review your application. Should your application prove successful, we will ask you to attend our offices for an initial meeting.

Meeting and assessment

The meeting will involve a representative from the student volunteers, with the assistance of the UTAS Tax Advisor, depending on your situation. At the meeting, we will advise on our capacity to assist you or provide an alternative recommendation.
