Object Design allows students to experience university while learning what it's like to be a designer and artist. Students are introduced to the conceptual process and explore and engage with their creativity in several different mediums.
Object design offers students the opportunity to:
- Design and make bespoke functional items.
- Attend a symposium that includes designer talks, technical demonstrations, and an introduction to their project brief.
- Produce a major design piece for assessment, backed up by a project journal and drawing, model, or project plans.
Completed student works will be presented at a group exhibition, which will also form the basis of the student assessment process.
This unit is available to Year 11 and 12 students through the University Connections Program. Find out more here in the full University Connections Program Handbook 2024 (PDF 2.0 MB)
