Parliamentary Internship

If you're interested in gaining practical experience in political research and policy-making analysis, this internship offered by the Parliament of Tasmania might be right up your alley.

This internship can be undertaken by any bachelor's degree level student with available electives.

This program allows you to take on a part-time placement with a Member of Parliament or a Parliamentary Committee, where you can hone your skills and gain valuable insights into the workings of government. As part of the internship, you'll be tasked with creating a research-oriented report, which will allow you to showcase your potential and demonstrate your abilities.

The internship duration is 12-13 weeks (one semester), and students typically spend a day a week at their placement.

It's a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of politics and make valuable connections in the industry.

Enrolment in the Parliamentary Internship requires a partnership between the University and the placement agency. You must obtain the approval of the unit coordinator before enrolling in this unit.
